Tagged as "a snug full of antics", the latest new bar in Galway's Hardiman Hotel is MacNeill's, which opened on
16 November 2023.
They're located in the basement at the north-west corner of the hotel - which is itself majestically poised at the bottom of Eyre Square.
This is a venue with a lot of history: when the hotel was the Meyrick it was the Gaslight, the Oyster Bar, Fagan's Sports bar (closed in January 2014) - and before that Tosh cocktail and champagne bar, and in the Great Southern Hotel days it was O'Flahertys.
