A sister establishment to The Lane wine bar on Kirwan's Lane, La Vina is located officially at No 8 Quay Lane, next to Grace Cunningham Fine Art / Cobwebs and opposite Kumar's - though in practice, most people think of this as Spanish Parade. They're in a unit that was previously An Cupán Tae, just around the corner from Druid Theatre Galway Museum, Leonardo (Jury's Inn) and the House Hotel.
The premises has had a thoughtful refurbishment - keeping the large windows and natural light for longer evenings and people-watching, but adding a darker decor, wine-racks tall stools and classy furniture.
Aiming to offer a journey of sophistication and local flavour, La Vina expertly pairs the charm of Old World wines with vibrant, locally sourced tapas. The menu includes local seafood, artisanal cheeses and savoury meats, reflecting the culinary richness of the West of Ireland, carefully crafted by master-chef.
Initially open from 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday.
