Well-known local, family-owned and operated events and corporate catering
company SKG opened their first Siam Kitchen restaurant in the second week of
July 2024.
It's in Liosbaun Industrial Estate, on the side facing out to the Tuam Road -
just along from Poloenz Foodland, and Top Part (next door to the
previous UlsterBank branch). This unit was previously
Friendly Bistro, and before that Lunchtime cafe - but has been renovated to make better use
of the space, and add some SKG decor touches, including a lovely combination
of Claddagh rings and Thai street scenes.
The menu is an interesting mix, reflecting the local location and expectations
about what's served for breakfast and lunch with a Thai twist, as well as making great use of
local fresh fish. And if it's anything like their previous operations,
it will continue to evolve and offer a blend of Asian and European
dishes.
Initially they're serving coffee from 7.30am, breakfast from 8am-12 noon, and lunch well into the afternoon - but days and hours will probably change to meet local demand.
